The Mirrors of Satan
People often view Satan as a being separate from their own consciousness i.e a black monstrous being who lives underground and who occasionally tempts and torments humans.
-Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience:Eph 2:2
-But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.Matt 16:23
-Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do...John 8:44
In our natural state, Satan is not separate from our consciousness. Infact, he is our consciousness and the mind that operates in us (Eph 2:2): Man is the mirror that reflects Satan. That was why Jesus called Peter Satan in Matt 16:23: The satanic mind is our natural mind.
It is the mind that rejects the things and ways of God and chooses the things and ways of men and that is why Jesus told the Jews that they did the lusts of their Father: The fallen man naturally reflects the satanic mind (by his thoughts and actions) whether he realizes it or not
-Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.Prov 12:20
-And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,...Rev 20:10
-The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?Jer 17:9
Satan is the mind that works within fallen mankind and the one that deceives them into rejecting God and choosing sin.
The Mirrors of Christ
He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.1 John 3:7
In a similar vein, we often view Christ as a being who is supposed to be separate from our consciousness i.e as a king who rules in heaven who only manifests once in a while to save us from trouble and guide us.
While it is true that Christ is separated from the sinful world (because of its fall into sin), it is not supposed to be so. Christ is supposed to be enthroned in our hearts. He is supposed to rule and be enthroned within us.
..The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.Luke 17:20-21
-Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.John 14:23
The Church is the mirror that reflects Jesus and Christ is the mirror that reflects God that is why Jesus stated in Luke 10:16:"He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me".
When we listen to Christ's Church we listen to Christ. When we despise them, we despise Christ:
-Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.Matt 24:44-45.
-And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.John 12:45
Also Jesus didnt say Saul, Saul why are you persecuting my church when he rebuked Saul for persecuting the Church. He said:Saul Saul why are you persecuting Me (Acts 9:4).
I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.John 8:38
Whenever you want to see Christ and Satan, look no further than the Church and the world.
